about

How to come to terms with life if it has no ultimate meaning. We have the same feelings as past generations even if the experience is different. To think beyond a life that has a beginning and an end is to better understand how time shapes us. This song arose from the abstract rhythms of rain dripping from my shed roof, the rhythms are related mathematically, but our perception of the relationship breaks down in parts. The sax solo tries to express the benefits of freeing ourselves from rigid thought in order to find more peace.

lyrics

Forever changing surface. Eternal forms remain, the waters flow.
Oh human shore, let the river go. Oh human shore, let the river go.
It's calling, the tide is coming. Our weathered souls they drift upon that sea.
But the dead are living as whispers in the breeze. But the dead are living as whispers in the breeze.
